Abstract
A DVD compilation of Singapore short films by Objectifs Films. In 'Birthday', the "marriage of a young couple, Feng and May, reach a breaking point on their son's birthday as they struggle with discontent and Feng's joblessness. Just when all seems lost, they find a glimmer of hope in the act of giviing to their son". In 'Closer apart', "a pair of young lovers find themselves in a strangled relationship, only to realise that sometimes being apart is necessary to grow closer". 'Nana and Damien' is a love story of a man and his mannequin. 'Twenty Four Seven' is a love story in which a convenience store becomes a meeting place for two teenagers. '12:17' is the story of three groups of troubled individuals, each looking for their own form of resolutions. In 'Blackboard whiteshoes', an ingenious 11 year old thinks of a way to escape punishment for wearing dirty shoes to school. In 'Boy genius', a young filmmaker who is trying to make a fim, finds his girlfriend getting underfoot. In 'Crammed', a mother's academic pressure on her 12 year old son causes him to resort to pills.
