This is a photograph from E. A. Brown’s collection. It was taken during the opening ceremony of the Singapore Naval Base's floating dock on 14 August 1929. The photograph shows the bow of Sea Belle II, the Governor's yacht, breaking the rope hung across the entrance to the floating dock. She had steamed from the town bringing the Governor, Sir Hugh Clifford and Lady Clifford and various officials. Date of creation estimated. Title devised by Library staff.
