This is a 1930s photograph from E. A. Brown's collection. It shows the west bank of the Suez Canal a little after the ship has entered the canal from the Red Sea. The black shape on the flagstaff by the coast indicates that the ship is permitted to continue up the canal. Date of creation estimated. Title devised by Library staff.
