About the Programme 

This introductory talk, by Montfort Care CREST team, provides you with a foundational understanding of mental health and mental illness, emphasising the importance of early intervention, understanding, preventing, and managing mental health challenges.

You can expect to:
1. Understand the distinction between mental health and mental illness and be able to recognize the spectrum of mental well-being.
2. Be able to identify signs and symptoms of prevalent mental health disorders and how they impact lives.
3. Clarify common myths and misconceptions surrounding mental health.
4. Learn practical strategies for maintaining mental well-being.
5. Discover available community resources for support and intervention.

About the Speakers:
Rafiuddin Bin Halim and Liaw Wan Qing have been working with Montfort Care Mental Health team for the last 6 years and 4 years respectively. Rafi has a nursing background and Wan Qing graduated as a social worker. They have been taking care of people with mental health issues and dementia. They also work closely with caregivers and conduct various mental health talks and to create mental health awareness in the community.
