About the Event
This workshop will be held at MakeIT at Tampines (Level 4 within Tampines Regional Library).
About the Programme
Learn how sensors shape the electronics systems around us by getting hands-on with some common sensors that are used in household applications. BOSON is a modular kit of electronics sensors that makes prototyping electronics projects easy, without the need to solder parts together. BOSON is compatible with Micro:Bit, an easy to use microcontroller that simplifies physical computing. During this interactive session, we will introduce the process for using sensors in electronics projects, including how to code using MakeCode, a block-based programming language, how to identify appropriate sensors to complete tasks, and to create a demonstrative model of a smart home that has sensing capabilities.
By the end of this workshop, you will be able to do the following:
These skills form the foundation of electronics prototyping, and might be of interest if you are interested in programming but are intimidated by looking at screens, enjoy tinkering with physical things, or like to see results from a project in a short amount of time.
No programming knowledge is needed to participate, and we’ll also supply laptops for you to use.
The age requirement for participants is 13+
