Flowers bloom and wilt with no regrets, while fate comes and goes like ocean tides. Just as flowers evoke beauty and elegance in the eyes of the beholder, “Where the Flowers Bloom” reflects the nature of Chinese dance, where goodness and beauty are upheld in a passionate display of grace and refinement.
Dandelions are the epitome of courage. When their fruits have ripened, they are carried by the wind to embark on a journey unbeknownst to them. Despite being unable to control where the wind takes them, they fearlessly embrace the journey, bravely taking root as they arrive at the destination.
Running Time: 10 mins
Format: Stereoscopic 180-degree VR

About DanceXR 2025: Tradition in Motion
DanceXR returns in March 2025 with a focus on celebrating cultural heritage through dance and technology as we present five new works from Malay, Indian and Chinese traditions in 180-degree and 360-degree virtual reality (VR). The VR works include: Si Tanggang by Sri Warisan, Joget: An Immersive Journey Through Time by P7:1SMA, Kodukotti by Sakthi Fine Arts, and Where the Flowers Bloom by Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre.
Experiencing dance in VR is unlike attending a performance from your seat in the theatre or watching a regular video on the screen. VR places you at the heart of the action for an up-close and personal experience. In Joget: An Immersive Journey Through Time, you can even learn and practice the traditional Malay dance in VR.
DanceXR is an arts-tech initiative by creative-tech studio Avventura, and is supported by the National Arts Council Singapore.
