Abstract
This is a video recording of an interview conducted with well-known Singaporean guitarist, Alex Abisheganaden, recipient of the Cultural Medallion Award for Music in 1988. The video traces his music career, and records his thoughts on being awarded the Cultural Medallion. Included are brief performances on the guitar by Alex Abisheganaden of two musical pieces, Flamenco Rhapsody and Amazing Grace, as well as a brief recording of his composition entitled Huan Yin-Vanakam, performed by the ensemble founded by him, the National University of Singapore Guitar Ensemble (GENUS), under the baton of Robert Casteels.
