Abstract
This is a video recording of an interview conducted with artist-calligrapher, Lim Tze Peng, 87, recipient of the Cultural Medallion Award for Art in 2003 and best known for the significant number of Chinese ink drawings of Chinatown and the Singapore River he produced during the early 1980s. The video traces his artistic career, and records his thoughts on his own works, artistic style, inspiration, working habits and philosophy of life. Included are commentaries by Koh Seow Chuan, art collector, and Dr. Ho Chee Lick, artist, as well as visual presentations of his selected works of oil and ink paintings and his calligraphy. Narration in English and interview conducted in Mandarin with English subtitles.
