"This morning, 34 JC and Polytechnic students received their Wings at the SYFC PPL Wings & Aviation Awards Ceremony. It was a proud moment for the families and friends of the students. Addressing the graduands in a pre-recorded speech, Senior Minister of State for Defence, Mr Zaqy Mohamad noted that SYFC has lived up to its mission of inspiring youths to pursue a career with RSAF to enhance Singapore's peace and security. He said, "Our need for a strong RSAF remains the same... We rely on a capable and operationally ready RSAF to overcome our geographical vulnerabilities, so that Singapore can survive and thrive." Amid COVID-19 restrictions, graduands' families, friends, school teachers, lecturers, aviation industry partners as well as senior officials from RSAF tuned in virtually via video conferencing for the ceremony."--Contributed by Singapore Youth Flying Club, as part of the "Documenting COVID-19 in Singapore" collection community call.
