Photographed By Kouo, Shang-Wei, 1924-1988

Information About

This photograph shows a side view of the OCBC Centre as seen from a park at the corner of Raffles Place and Chulia Street. The restful oasis in the foreground was built after a fire destroyed the building that once stood on this spot. Rays of sunlight casting shadows on the textured surface of the concrete walls with curved arches, gives the place a tranquil appearance. Title devised by Library staff. Date of creation estimated.
