This photograph shows a general view of the National Library building at Stamford Road. The iconic red-brick building was a major landmark in Singapore's civic and cultural district. The library was closed on 31 March 2004 and eventually torn down in 2005 to make way for the construction of the Fort Canning Tunnel.
