This is general view of Lido Theatre (left) and the ten-storey Shaw House (right) along Orchard Road. Shaw House at 354, Orchard Road was built between 1957 and 1958. It was declared open by Chief Minister Lim Yew Hock on 22 November 1958. Commissioner-General for Southeast Asia, Sir Robert Scott opened Lido Theatre with a capacity of 1602 seats, on 6 February 1959. Title devised by Library staff.
