This picture depicts a view of Maha Bodhi School (菩提学校) at 50, Lorong 34 Geylang, as seen from its basketball courts. The primary school was founded in 1946 and occupied a shophouse at 743, Geylang Road. It was declared open on 12 January 1948. The school was relocated to Lorong 34, Geylang in July 1951 and the premises was declared open by Mr. Malcolm MacDonald, British High Commissioner, on 1 December 1951. It was relocated to 10, Ubi Avenue 1 in November 1995. The school was temporarily relocated to the former premises of Macpherson Secondary School at 107, Circuit Road, and returned to Ubi Avenue 1 in 2009. Past principals include Sister Wong Loon Soo (1948-1950); Miss Pitt Chin Hui (1950-1971); Mr. Foo Soo Luang (符书銮, 1971-Oct 1996); Mr. Chew Chong Theng (1996-2002); Mr. Foo Chee Meng (2002-2004); and Mrs. Lim-Chew Bee Lay (Dec 2004 to date).
