This 1950s photograph of the Victoria Theatre (formerly known as Town Hall) and Victoria Memorial Hall (renamed as Victoria Concert Hall in 1980) was taken from across the road at the Padang. Victoria Memorial Hall and the distinctive clock tower are seen, while Victoria Theatre is partially hidden by palm trees. Vehicles and cyclists are seen on Empress Place and Fullerton Road in front of the buildings, in the foreground. The Victoria Theatre and Victoria Concert Hall was gazetted as a national monument on 14 February 1992. Title devised by Library staff. Date of creation estimated.
