This photograph shows the model of a proposed shopping complex for an Orchard Road site where Wheelock Place sits today. The model was part of Akitek Tenggara's design submission to the Urban Redevelopment Authority for the Orchard Road site in 1989. URA eventually awarded the site to Marco Polo Hotel who hired Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa to design today's Wheelock Place.
