A scale model of the second phase of the proposed expansion of the NTUC Pasir Ris Resort at 1 Pasir Ris Close. The groundbreaking ceremony of the resort was officiated by Second Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary-General of the National Trades Congress Union, Mr. Ong Teng Cheong on 2 April 1985. Prime Minister, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew officially declared the resort open on 29 October 1988. It was established by the National Trades Union Congress to provide affordable family-based leisure options. In 2000, it was renamed as the NTUC Lifestyle World Downtown East and later as the Costa Sands Resort (Downtown East). TItle devised by Library staff.
