This 1880s photograph shows a view of the St. Andrew's Cathedral, near the Esplanade (present day Padang). Named after the patron saint of Scotland, it is the oldest Anglican house of worship in Singapore and was gazetted as a national monument in 1973. St Andrew's Cathedral is now located on 11 St Andrew's Road (next to present day City Hall M.R.T. station). Title devised by Library staff. Date of creation estimated.
