This is a head-and-shoulder portrait of Mr. Syed Mohamed bin Alwi Aidid, the founding Chairman of the Griffiths School Advisory Committee from July 1968 to February 1979. He was Vice President of the General Committee of the JAMIYAH (1972); President of the Arab Association of Singapore (1976); Managing Director of the Aidid Trading Company (Private) Limited (1974-1982); and President (1974, 1977) and Committee Member of the Singapore Timber Exporters' Association (1981-1982).
