This 1863 photograph shows a view of the town taken from Fort Canning Hill looking towards Tanjong Rhu. The Cathedral of the Good Shepherd with its spire can be seen in the middle. Gravestones in the then Cemetery on Fort Canning can be seen in the foreground. The image was digitized from a Sachtler & Co. album entitled "Views and types of Singapore, 1863".
