This 1992 photograph depicts Kallang River, with a view of Lorong Tiga Estate from a bridge near Kallang Bahru (upper part of Boon Keng Road). Several blocks of high-rise apartment buildings can be seen to the right of the photograph. Lorong Tiga Estate is no longer found in the present day street directory. Kallang River flows from Peirce Reservoir and is Singapore's longest river. The river is named after the original inhabitants of Singapore, the Biduanda Orang Kallang, who lived in the swamps at the river mouth. Title devised by Library staff.
