This is a picture of four policemen carrying a rioter during Hock Lee Bus riot. A strike broke out at Hock Lee Amalgamated Bus Company over the dismissal of about 200 members of Singapore Bus Workers Union (SBWU). This erupted into a full-scale riot by striking workers. The situation was further complicated when about 2000 Chinese middle school students including those from Chinese High School and Chung Cheng High School, went to the scene to lend their support. Four people were killed and 31 injured. The four people killed were Corporal Andrew Teo Boon Lan, Detective Corporal Yuen Yau Pang, Mr. Chong Lon Chong (student) and Mr. Gene D.
