This is a photograph of Mr. Long Xuefan, Principal of Yeung Ching School (养正学校), addressing the pupils during morning assembly at Club Street. The school was founded in 1906 as a private school for Cantonese children. It was relocated from Park Road to a mansion on a small hill at Club Street in 1918. A new school building on the same site was constructed in three phases between 1957 and 1965. It later merged with Telok Ayer Primary School and Peck Seah Primary School to form the new Yeung Ching School. In 1988, it school became Yangzheng Primary School when it was converted into a government school. The school is currently located at 15, Serangoon Avenue 3. Title devised by Library staff.
