This 1982 photograph shows the entrance to Gay World Amusement Park, at Geylang Road. Gay World was one of the three "World" amusement parks that provided affordable entertainment for Singaporeans, in the form of cabarets, operas, movies, gaming, sport matches, stunts and shopping. It was set up in 1936 and demolished in 2001. Title devised by Library staff.
