Information About

As part of Project Work in junior college, we had to print our group reports – which were about eighty pages long! Instead of printing at our school’s printing shop, the norm for many students was to go to an outside printing shop that usually had cheaper rates. Katong Shopping Centre was near my house and had many printing shops. I ended up going to AppleDot as I saw that they had special promotions for students doing PW, which stood out from the other printing shops. The uncle working there was a little brusque but was very good at his work. He even took the time to explain the different types of binding and recommended one to me. Overall, our group reports came out pretty well thanks to him. Five years later, I ended up going back to the same shop to laminate some important documents for my citizenship application – and was very glad to see it still in business! -- Contributed by Alyssa Lim Shuyun, as part of the "Young Singapore" Contemporary Collecting initiative. This photograph shows a signage at a printing shop, AppleDot, located at the Katong Shopping Centre. It features 1 free binding for every 1 JC (junior college) project work binding.
