This is a 2004 photograph showing a general view of City Hall, with Raffles City Tower in the background. The building is architecturally noteworthy for its Corinthian columns. Historically, it was the site of the Japanese surrender in 1945 and declaration of Singapore's independence in 1965. City Hall was gazetted as a national monument on 14 February 1992.
