This is a half-length portrait of Dr. Kanwaljit Soin, an orthopaedic surgeon who served as the first female Nominated Member of Parliament from 1992 to 1996. She was also President of the Association of Women for Action and Research (AWARE) from 1991 to 1993 and Singapore Hand Society from 1989 to 1990. Title devised by Library staff.
