This photograph, likely to have been taken in the late 1960s, shows the City Hall area and the neighbouring Central Business District around Raffles Place. Landmarks include The Fullerton Hotel, Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall, the Old Supreme Court, Singapore Cricket Club and Singapore Recreation Club beside the Padang, Saint Andrew's Cathedral, War Memorial Park, the land where Raffles City is presently located for which the ground-breaking occurred on 14 August 1980 and Raffles Hotel. The waterfront can also be clearly seen as land reclamation of the Marina Bay area here, has not commenced. Title devised by Library staff.
