This 1970s photograph from E. A. Brown's collection shows the busy road junction of Cecil Street and D'Almeida Street, from the corner of Robinson Road and Finlayson Green. The Algemene Bank Nederland (ABN) building is on the left of D'Almeida Street, while Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) building is on the right. The Mercantile Bank building can be partially seen on the right, behind IOB. The domed Chartered Bank Building can also be seen in the background. Two black ‘Yellow Top’ taxis can be seen in the foreground. Date of creation estimated. Title devised by Library staff. Information contributed by Richard Hale.
