This 1983 photograph shows North Boat Quay (between Read Bridge and Canning Lane), from Boat Quay. Read Bridge can be seen in the centre of the photograph. This bridge was named in honour of a political and social activist and merchant, William H. Read. The road along the quay, also called North Boat Quay, has been turned into a pedestrian mall with the restoration and redevelopment of Clarke Quay in the 1990s. Title devised by Library staff.
