This is a 1960s photograph of an Indian man selling mutton soup. The stall has a signboard that reads: 'A. Samad'. Numerous food stalls such as this were set up by the island's myriad hawkers in front of shophouses and along five-foot ways, offering a variety of succulent dishes. Photograph donated by Leong Keng Wai and displayed at the Heritage Roadshow 2008. HRS3_470. Date of creation estimated. Title devised by Library staff.
