Tembusu tree at Singapore Botanic Gardens

This is a photograph of the iconic tembusu tree at Singapore Botanic Gardens. The tree with its distinctive lateral low-lying branch has a fence erected around it, to prevent damage to its roots. The tembusu tree is recognised as a “heritage tree”, and its image is on the back of the Singapore five-dollar note issued in 1999 under the Portrait series. Title devised by Library staff.
