This photograph shows the construction of Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) near some HDB flats. The construction of an extensive network of highways, including the 14 km Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE), according to the Singapore Concept Plan began in the early 1970s. Linking the AYE to the East Coast Expressway (ECP), facilitates speedy, no-traffic-light route between the east coast and Tuas. Donated by Sathakathuda Sahib S/O Peer Mohd, and displayed at the Heritage Roadshow 2008. Title devised by Library staff. Date of creation estimated.
