This 1982 photograph shows shophouse no. 196 Jalan Besar, at the Syed Alwi Road corner. The three-storey shophouse has a façade which features plaster mouldings, tiled pilasters, and tiled panels below the upper floor windows. The corner façade features balconies overlooking the junction of the two roads. The ground floor of the shophouse houses a coffee shop. Title devised by Library staff.
