This is a photograph of a facade of the three-storey headquarters of Singapore Detective Branch, the predecessor of Criminal Investigation Department (CID), at Robinson Road, near Anson Circus (later demolished). It was built, and completed in 1931. On 20 September 1993, CID was relocated to the former building of Central Police Station at 99, Eu Tong Sen Street. The Robinson Road premises was demolished in 1995 to make way for the 52-storey Capital Tower, completed in 2000. In 2001, CID was relocated to Police Cantonment Complex at 391, New Bridge Road.
