This book looks at the funeral customs, practices and beliefs of the Chinese community (Hokkien, Cantonese, Hakka, Teochiu, Hainanese, Kwongsai, Hockchiu, Henghua and others) in Malaya. Areas covered include religious aspect (Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism), approach and preparation, selection and construction of grave, as well as funeral procession. It also covers ancestor worship practices and rites performed on special occasions, such as Ts'ing Ming Festival (清明节/Qing ming jie) and eve of Chinese New Year.
