The National Library Board offers a range of library services, programmes and activities, specially catered for library users who are 50 years old and above. For more information, please browse below for these programmes.

Time Of Your Life Magazine

The Time of Your Life magazine is a quarterly publication specially designed for people 50 years old and above. It covers topics like health, olden days Singapore, as well as interesting book reviews by librarians. It is available for free at our public libraries. While stocks last.

Reading Recommendations

Be inspired to read. Click here for a list of reading recommendations covering topics like health, cookery, finance, travel or hobbies and fiction titles.

Electronic Resources 

You can also enjoy electronic books (eBooks), eNewspapers and other resources online from the comfort of your home. Access these resources online, anytime, anywhere at, if you are a NLB Library Member and have signed up for a free myLibrary ID.

Large Print Books

If you prefer reading printed materials, consider our large print books available at all libraries. You can check out the selection at our catalogue,, using "large type books" as search terms.

Silver Infocomm Junction@Public Libraries

The Silver Infocomm Junction (SIJ) offers all seniors aged 50 & above an opportunity to learn, discover and access digital information and resources. A partnership with Infocomm Development Authority (IDA), this initiative encourages library users aged 50 and above to learn, discover, and access digital information and resources through the ‘iKnow’ Computer and iPad series

The ‘iKnow’ sessions will be conducted at Woodlands Regional Library (Level 2, Silver Infocomm Junction Room) and Bedok Public Library (Level 1, Programme Zone).

Popular computer courses offered at Woodlands Regional Library include: 

  • Basic Computer and Internet (3-day session)
  • e-Entertainment (2-day session)
  • Social Communications (2-day session)
  • 基本电脑与网络(共三堂课)
  • 网上娱乐(共两堂课)
  • 网上社交与通讯(共两堂课)

NEW library tablet courses offered at Bedok Public Library:

  • iPads & Basic Email (2-day session)
  • iPads & Internet (3-day session)
  • iPads & Navigating Singapore (2-day session)
  • 苹果iPad基本平板电脑运作与网际网络(共三堂课)
  • 苹果iPad平板电脑与电邮应用程序(共两堂课)

Free Internet Hotspots

Singaporeans or Permanent Residents aged 50 and above can get one hour of free internet access, daily, at any of the multimedia stations in our public libraries (except library@chinatown & library@orchard).

To use the hotspots, you just have to sign up for a free myLibrary ID if you are already a library member.

Interest Groups for the 50plus

Further your knowledge in subjects of your interest using library resources through sharing, discussion or experiential learning at our library interest groups for people aged 50 and above. These interest group meetings are held at regular intervals and are facilitated by library staff or volunteers, using library resources or other reading materials.

The following are some of the groups available in our libraries:

Guided Library Visits for Seniors

Guided group visits to the public libraries for people aged 50 and above are also available on request. Participants will get to learn more about library services available for seniors, through quizzes, hands-on activities and a guided tour of the library.
